Pinto Beans in the Slow Cooker


1 pound dried C&F Foods Pinto Beans
1 yellow onion, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, diced
1/2 red bell pepper, diced
2 celery ribs, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 pound ham, cubed
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon olive oil
5 cups chicken broth, or as needed to cover


How to Prep and Cook Dried Beans
Rinse and soak dried beans.
Place drained pinto beans, onion, peppers, celery, garlic, ham, cumin, oregano, bay leaves, and olive oil in a slow cooker. Cover with broth. Cook on low for 7 to 9 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours. Remove bay leaves before serving. Serves 10.
